Carrying on the Tradition

Harley Alligood has been ringing the tower bell at First United Methodist Church (11 AM service) for 55 years. A few months ago, his great grandson, Patrick Wilhelm, asked if he could help ring the bell. Thus began a new Sunday morning tradition as Patrick proudly climbs up on a chair and, supported lovingly by his “pa”, rings the bell signaling the conclusion of the 11 AM worship service. Patrick’s mom, Christi Wilhelm, and grandparents, Lorre and Ted Bowen, are also members of FUMC.
