United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF)
Youth (6th-12th grades) meet each Sunday evening at 5:30pm during the school year for food, fellowship, faith, and service. After a snack supper, middle school and senior high youth divide into separate groups for age-appropriate programs.
In addition to weekly meetings, there are opportunities for drama, special one-time events and trips, conference events, and service/mission activities. Contact the church office for more information.
Pre-Confirmation and Confirmation Classes
The Confirmation program at First United Methodist Church begins with pre-confirmation classes in 4th and 5th grades. In addition to learning about our Christian faith and how to use their Bibles, the pre-confirmation classes play games and enjoy fellowship similar to the format of the UMYF. Confirmation classes begin at the end of the 6th grade year. Contact the church office for information or to enroll.
Mid-week Children’s Ministries
First UMC Preschool is a place where children matter, and where children are encouraged to grow in their faith, as well as socially, developmentally, and academically. Classes are offered for children 18 months through Pre-K. For more information, please contact Director Janet Cooper at 946-7655.
Children’s Sunday School is offered for all ages. Special activities are also offered throughout the year for all children at First UMC, including a Fall Carnival, Easter Egg Hunt, and Vacation Bible School.
